We ask that when you begin to visit chat you pick a name to be used with each visit and keep it. Coming in and out of chat using different names makes it very difficult for everyone. Nicknames are fine, as long as they are not offensive.  Offensive nicknames which are sexual and provocative in nature will not be allowed.  Impersonation of anyone in the chatroom is strictly prohibited.  Violators may be banned without warning.

Refrain from harassing, swearing, flaming or criticizing others.  Flooding or general rudeness will not be tolerated. We are free to disagree with another person, but poor behavior toward another person will not be tolerated. Violators may be banned without warning. 

Refrain from harassing, swearing, flaming and criticizing others based on their religion, race and sexual orientation.  This is guamchat with a diverse array of different background from all over the world.  We do not wish to offend anyone.  Off-color comments and jokes have no place here as well.  Please avoid chatting in all capital letters as it is generally considered as shouting.  Violators may be banned without warning.

There will be no advertising of any kind in the main chat room.  This includes spamming, advertising websites, or blog links intended to drive traffic to another site for sale of items, etc.  Violators may be banned without warning.

As a courtesy to other users of the chat room please use English or Chamorro when chatting.

Additionally, Guamchat is accessible to everyone (including minors).  As such, adult oriented/related topics are discouraged.  Violators may be banned without warning.

Refrain from posting obscene and/or offensive material in Guamchat.  Refrain from posting links to websites that promote software piracy, pornography, etc.  Discussion of any illegal activity is strictly prohibited.  Violators may be banned without warning.

We all know that chat can and will often stray from topics about Guam.  That’s why there is private chat.  Please use private chat if the need arises where you wish to discuss about topics other than Guam.

Questioning the actions of the moderator in the main chat room is discouraged.  Any complaints or concerns regarding moderator abuse must be sent directly to the chat room owner via e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .  Moderator complaint must include a screenshot, transcript/log or at the very least, a description of the events being reported and the name(s) of the moderator(s) involved.

Non compliance to the foregoing guidelines will result in the violator being give a warning unless otherwise stated.  Continued or repeated violations will result to the offender being banned from the chatroom either temporarily or permanently.
